I gave up on the free phones years ago. None of them have consistent info on service or equipment and got screwed over so many times. Just pay for the minutes on a no contract prepaid phone and be done with it.

Safelink Wireless review: Do not use SafeLink; they are the worst service on the planet!

Dropped calls, person on other side of line can't hear me, people calling me say they reach recording "unable to complete call. Also when I turn off data bc I'm using WiFi, the data mysteriously turns itself back on, which I don't immediately notice since I'm still connected to WiFi. Complaints to customer service go unresolved bc SafeLink out sources customer service to a foreign company who's employees ability to speak English is below average and they talk in circles, aka bs so nothing is ever resolved.

I applied for free phone for my disabled son. In the past few months when I called to follow up I was informed there was no application on file. So I would reapply. Today when I followed up on latest application (2 weeks ago) I was first told there was no application. But when I scoffed, I was told it had been in verification dept. past 2 weeks. So, I was told to call verification. Verification dept. said there was no application and need to call Safelink back. I now have an application with Assurance, wish me luck. Safelink is the most inept company I have ever dealt with.
